Chilli Chocolate Brownies in a Bread Maker

Ingredients
  • oil for tin
  • 100g melted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence
  • ⅓ cup good quality cocoa powder
  • ½ cup plain flour
  • ¾ tsp cinnamon powder
  • 1 flat tsp cayenne pepper or as desired
  • Pinch of salt
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • 2 large eggs
Instructions
  1. Remove the blade from the bread tin
  2. Oil the tin
  3. Melt the butter in a medium sized saucepan
  4. Add the sugar and vanilla to the melted butter and stir hard until it is very well blended
  5. Leave to rest a few minutes so that the sugar can dissolve a bit and the butter cools down
  6. Add the cocoa and stir well until there are no lumps
  7. Add the flour and stir well again until smooth
  8. Add the cinnamon, cayenne to taste, salt and baking powder
  9. Lastly add the eggs and stir very well until the whole mixture is very smooth and shiny
  10. Pour the batter into the bread tin and set to bake on cake setting
  11. After 30 minutes check with toothpick in the centre to see if fudgy
  12. It could take up to 40 minutes
  13. Remove tin and place tin in a cool spot on a rack
  14. Allow cake to cool in tin
  15. Gently ease a spatula around the brownies and tip onto a board and cut into squares
  16. Serve with vanilla ice cream
